Why you should consider Fine Art Photographs
The right piece of wall art can create a huge difference in a room, office or any commercial space. Whether they're smaller pieces to accent existing decor, or a large image to create a real impact and focal point in the room.
Fine art photography is a wonderful medium, that's not to say it's any better than other forms of art, but it certainly has it's own unique place in the world of wall art.
So exactly what is Fine Art Photography?
Well Wikipedia defines it as "...photography created in accordance with the vision of the artist as photographer. ... in contrast to representational photography such as photojournalism, which provides a documentary visual account of specific subjects and events, literally re-presenting objective reality rather than the subjective intent of the photographer..."
That's why I feel photography makes for an inspired piece of wall art. Unlike a painting or abstract, it captures a subject in real time. Sometimes the creative vision is already in the photographers mind and the subject matter is then found, captured and post processed to meet that original vision.
More often than not it can be very spontanious. Personally most of my work is created this way. If I'm shooting a landscape I may already have a location in mind, but I don't have any control of the weather or light, so you work with what nature provides on the day.
Also the drive out to these locations can offer up unexpected opportunities, a lovely old rusting car, another landscape or an amazing building crumbling away.
Unlike a painting, choosing a fine art photograph for your wall art allows you to find that image you like and order it in various sizes, as well as frame colour, to suit your needs. Plus the different mediums available to have it printed on allow for more versatility. If you don't want a framed print, you have the option of a canvas. If you're looking for wall art that you can hang in an outdoor area, acrylic or metal prints could be the option.
Wall art is an important part of any decor. Can you imagine a lovely decorated home with blank walls? Can you imagine going to a restaurant that has no pictures hanging up? Have you ever walked into an office, bank or any commercial space that didn't have some form of wall art?
So if you're in need of some wall art for your space, fine art photographs are definitely an option..hopefully you'll choose one of mine!
